Interactive Art Concept
I have designed a layout and interactive art concept for my course, Interactive Arts, where select an artist and recreate their artwork interactively. I make the audience interact and become part of the artwork. I was inspired by Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s artwork Séance de Shadow II (bleu) (1998) and adapted it with modern technology so that the audience will have more interactions with the artwork and also become part of the artwork as they are also a performer. This was a 3 weeks project.
Steps:

I first researched the background and intention of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s artwork Séance de Shadow II (bleu) (1998). Then I brainstormed interaction ideas to make the audience participate in the artwork. I came up with the idea that participants can select a booklet varying by the number of participants, and they will try to mimic the shadow images in the booklet by a given time limit. Cameras will be set up so that an image will be captured when they click the remote controller. They can view it from their mobile museum application. After taking the pictures, they will walk along the hallway with a television set up, which shows the group of participants behind them in real time, and they can view their attempt at mimicking the shadows. I have generated a configuration sketch, as seem below for clarity. The sketch was created with the prototyping tool, Figma.
