Who am I?
Designer. Creator. Multi-Cultured.
My name is Grace Lo. I am multi-cultural, creative and loves to come up with out of the box ideas. I grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Canada when I was 16. I always enjoyed storytelling and using my imagination to come up with different design ideas, such as creating an inclusive app (which is the App UI Design in my portfolio) and also the concept of an ice cream cone-shaped flashlight for children so that children can grip with various sizes and encourages them to learn to be independent by using a flashlight.
I am also a visual and kinaesthetic learner who enjoys the creative and artistic process of being a designer. Having these qualities helps me succeed in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) program offered at Simon Fraser University. The SIAT involves developing virtual designs and concrete products, which are very interesting to me. Some coursework includes graphic design, UX/UI design, product design, programming, photography, animation, and videography.
My professional goal is to develop my design skills through various mediums to improve the quality of life and convenience, especially through UX/UI Design as it can greatly improve the user experience.
Flashlight concept poster. I researched and came up with the concept and design (images at the bottom right, measurements of a child's hand and sketches, styrofoam prototype), rendered by Jimmy Lim and flashlight sketches by Angelica Wong.
